WISYCOM RENTALS CANADA (WRC) RENTAL POLICY
RENTAL PERIOD AND SHIPPING COSTS
WRC provides 2-day shipping to most major metropolitan locations in Canada, and we do not charge rental for the shipping period. Rental orders requiring shipping are shipped two business days before the rental charges begin and hold a 2-day minimum amount. The rental period continues until our shipper receives the equipment for return to WRC. Additional late days will be charged accordingly. There is a full-day minimum for all rentals. Weekends are considered the same as weekdays.
The renter is responsible for all shipping and shipping insurance costs. All equipment is shipped in locked hardshell cases to prevent damage and tampering. Standard shipping via PUROLATOR provides shipping and return labels according to the agreed rental period. In this case, the renter is not liable for the equipment in transit. The renter may also provide a shipping account number through a primary carrier for shipping and shipping insurance costs; in this case, the renter is liable for the equipment while in transit.
Just so you know, while a reasonable attempt may be made to estimate shipping and insurance charges beforehand, actual costs may vary and remain the renter's responsibility.
ERRORS AND OMISSIONS
Not what you expected? When you get your rental, you must let WRC know of any errors or omissions in your order or damages to equipment/accessories. After we receive it, we will do our best to fix the situation. If we can't fix the case, you can return your rental as soon as possible, and we will refund your rental. If we are not informed of these problems 4 hours after receipt (signature time received by shipper) of your rental equipment, the renter is responsible for all lost, damaged or malfunctioning items and the total rental charges for malfunctioning equipment and any additional costs for remediation of malfunctioning or damages. If the problem is determined to be due to damage incurred while on rental, the renter is responsible for paying additional charges for the repair and/or replacement of said equipment.
CANCELLATION
But why? Ok, it happens. Orders may be cancelled by email 24 hours before 8:00 am of the scheduled shipping date. Orders cancelled within 24 hours are subject to a cancellation fee of up to 30% of the agreed-upon rental amount. Any equipment shipped will be charged the daily rental rate, plus all shipping and insurance charges, until our shipper has received all equipment for return.
PROOF OF IDENTIFICATION AND INSURANCE
You must provide valid proof of identification, including a photograph and address corresponding to your rental's billing or shipping address. An Insurance Certificate or COI covering replacement costs due to potential loss or damage must be secured before any equipment can leave the premises of WRC. A “certificate of insurance” naming WRC, Inc. as an Additional Cert Holder / Loss Payee covering both liability and rented equipment is preferred and should be available from your insurance company or production. The renter is responsible for the cost to replace the same item or the closest comparably equipped model at current retail prices, less any discounts available, without depreciation deduction. In addition, the renter shall, at their expense, maintain in full force and effect insurance covering all equipment rented from all sources, full replacement cost (without deductions for depreciation), and loss of use (rents) of the equipment.
THEFT
Oh no! In the event of theft, rental charges will continue until a full police report is supplied to WRC. As a courtesy, there will be a “grace period” of ten days, starting from when the police report is provided to WRC, to either recover and return the equipment or provide payment for its replacement. After this ten-day grace period, rental charges will be resumed until either the equipment is returned or payment is provided for its replacement. Please refer to the insurance section for your responsibilities in this area.
INTERNATIONAL USE
You landed an international gig - that's cool! Rented equipment may be used internationally according to the laws and regulations of the country of intended use. You must let us know if you plan to use the rented equipment outside Canada, at which point we will provide you with serial numbers, country of origin, and value of all equipment for registration with customs. Any delays due to import/export or Customs will be billed the daily rental rate until the equipment is returned or until WRC has collected the replacement cost.
DAMAGES/DIRT
We’re confident that you will return the equipment in the condition that you received it. If not, there will be a $25 per hour cleaning fee for excessive dirt, sand, and labels left on equipment. WRC will bill damaged equipment, including labour, parts, shipping costs, etc., to the renter. Water-damaged equipment will be billed to the renter at full replacement cost. See the insurance section for details. Do not attempt to repair the equipment. In the case of damaged equipment, we will try to supply you with a replacement as soon as possible.
SUPPORT
Wisycom wireless is professional equipment and not necessarily intended to be “user-friendly.” A great degree of flexibility and functionality is built into the menu system and hardware. If you have never used Wisycom before, don’t expect to receive your rental in the morning and be in production an hour later. We provide several helpful “how-to” videos on our YouTube Channel and links to Wisycom’s user guides. We can provide technical and logistical support during regular business hours (9:00 am - 5:00 pm ET).
RUSH FEES
It happens. Overnight shipping to major Canadian metropolitan areas and local delivery to the Greater Toronto Area, The Region of Kitchener Waterloo and London, Ontario, Canada, can be arranged. Rush service fees and additional shipping costs will apply.
PAYMENT
Every renter must establish an online customer profile in our system. All payments must be made through our online payment system or by calling our rental department. Deposits will be required and authorized to your payment card but only charged if needed.
